Did a search, but a couple quick questions about wheels.

Okay here's the deal, I had my TSW Revo's mounted with 245/45/ZR17 tires mounted today. The wheels have a 40mm offset. The tires rub in the rear, but not on the outer edge of the fender. I believe they are rubbing on the strut housing. It's been raining all day, so I haven't gotten outside to jack the car up, and look(with the Intrax's, they sit tight in the wheel wells!).

I have found a set of wheel spacers for a 5 lug set up from Jegs. If I use these, will they in turn make the outer edge of the tire rub the fender?

In my search I found that 40mm can hold a 235 tire no problem, but I don't see many people using 245's.

If I need to roll the fenders, I'm not worried. I just don't want the tires rubbing on the struts.

One more thing, if I were to use a 5/16" or a 7/32" spacer, will I need longer wheel studs?

And these wheels look sick painted in IS300 gunmetal with those meaty tires on them! And I can only get two fingers in between the front tire and the wheel well! Now that's snug! And in the rear, the tire sits up in the wheel well, no gap at all!

Thanx in advance!

And i`m looking into a nice set of 15`s right now. :D I`m going to look like a truck compared to you,but i like the gearing factor. :)
I`m very impressed with what you`re doing with your SHO,it`s coming along great, you should be proud.

Some simple measurements should answer your question. Install the wheel without a spacer and measure how much room there is between the tire and the fender lip. That'll tell you if it'll rub when the spacer is installed. I'm guessing though that you'll have to do some rolling/trimming.

More than likely you will need longer wheel studs. With open ended lug nuts, the stud has to go all the way through the nut. I'm not sure what the rule is with acorn style lug nuts since you can't see what's happening.
