Good evening every one, I have an 1989
I recently changed the steering column and noticed my cruise control worked again. That is for about 5 days and now it doesn't. I also noticed that when it worked My horn didn't sound off but I at least heard the relay under the dash clicking on and off. now neither one works. I pulled off the steering wheel cover (front) and checked for voltage to the cruise control switches, horn switch and even went to the clock ring with no voltage any where.
1. should there be voltage to these switches or is it make or break with ground.
2. What am i looking for as voltage supply to the clock ring and where does it come from. and how do I know if the clock ring is bad.(not saying that it is)
3. there was a self test in conjunction with an ohm meter but I didn't know the abreviations to the check points. also I have a digital not analog ohm meter.
any ways is there a check or series of checks
thanks,
g
