Apparently cooling fan assembly for 92 SHO do not exist anywhere ...lol. called several local and none local junk yards as well as car-part.com search with no luck....

PPL I talk to from salvage yards were very nice but all say they don't have such a thing as if it never existed...

They do however claim that cooling fan from 90-95 sable 3.8 is compatible and 90-94 lincoln continental cooling fan is compatible....

Does anyone know for sure if this is true or could this be anothr unicorn chase....?? And I thought the ccrm was gonna b the hard one to find...lol

I would go to a ford dealer parts counter and have them cross ref the parts to make sure. I am inclined to say the large assembly part should be similar but I'm not sure about the motor. That's speculation and you should verify before you pull the trigger. also check ebay, the parts cars here on the forum, and the facebook group to see if you can locate an exact replacement

Did you try contacting Shosource

I saw someone selling a new one in Lake Forest, CA about a couple of weeks ago. It's not listed any longer, but it might come up again. It was listed as good for an 89 to 93 MTX.

So ordered cooling fan motor from rockauto....$105. It appeared to exact replacement so wired it up and put her in... motor seems to work good. ...although fan is kicking on at different times... (eithr ccrm is goin out or air in cooling system) hopefully will get it figured out.

Had to pb blast old motor spindle and tap it out with hammer and punch tho... took bout an hour but got it dun without breaking anything

Job well done, least amount of parts and best long term performance. Price is fairly high, but you only have to buy it once.
Put front of car high (like on hill or ramps) and satisfy yourself that all the air is out. May take some time, may have to repeat.
Don't fret over fan coming on at different temperatures. Sometimes they calm down after some serious mileage, and it might be a wonky thermostat that you will have to keep an eye on. If it were summer, I would change the thermostat to be sure, but you have all winter to figure it out.

On another note, the 92 Taurus / Sable with the 3.8 Essex engine does have a 2 speed fan, so this is one time the SHO did not lead the fleet in development.

The assemblies you mention will fit in just fine. So will the aftermarket assemblies for the 3.8L Taurus, like the Dorman. However, they are two-speed fans, which are far superior to the single speed fan. I've explained in other threads how to adapt the two-speed fan to the single-speed '92.
