Hello,
I am considering buying a used, 2013 SHO. I don't see too many SHO's here in the St. Louis area, and I have read reviews from both car magazines and individuals who say that the styling of the Taurus is dated and nowhere near as nice as the Fusion. I like the looks of the Fusion, but I LOVE the look of the Taurus- both SHO and otherwise. I think the Taurus is one of the best looking sedans on the road today. I'm disappointed that some people are down on the stying of this car, because again- I think it is superb!

I currently own a 2011 Explorer Limited that is loaded, and so I think the SHO will be a good fit for my wife and myself since we are already accustomed to the Explorer. By the way, we LOVE the Explorer, too. We also own a F350 diesel which is a phenomenal vehicle. And, I just sold our 2011 Focus SES yesterday. We also own a Toyota MR2, and a Chrysler Crossfire SRT6 roadster. Even though the SRT6 is almost entirely a Mercedes built vehicle (with the engine being hand built by AMG), we have been VERY disappointed by the quality of that car. In my opinion, I believe Ford makes the highest quality vehicle available today.

I'm trying to sell my 5th wheel camper, and as soon as I do, I will likely buy an SHO. I have an interested party looking at the RV tomorrow, so this could happen quickly. But, I've been trying to sell it for more than 2 years, so maybe not.

In the meantime, I'd be interested in hearing opinions as to what options are a MUST have, and which ones I can do without. I know I want the 402a package, and I would like to have the adaptive cruise as we have that in the Explorer, and we like it very much. I like the Moonroof. I do not want the black wheels. I don't think I want the performance package- if I want to go for a spirited drive, I take the SRT. I like the park assist, but truth be told we rarely use it.

Anything else I should consider?

Thanks,

Jay

I own a fusion and love it as it handles well and great gas mileage and affordable and I drive like a grandpa.

The SHO is a totally different animal better in every way except gas mileage and price.
