Compressing Rear Suspension

This goes along with my other thread on trimming the rear ground effects/rear fender. I was going to put my car on a lift and use a strap clamp/pony clamp around my H-brace and around the lift to compress my rear suspension and see where any problem areas would be. Any one have any idea what rating strap clap would be suitable for the job?

Take a guess on how far you want to compress the suspension, then multiply that by 2x your rear spring rate.

2ton straps shoudl do it with no problem, 1 ton ratchet straps would probably do it too but if you have acess to 2 ton straps it would be better, on since they come in 4 packs usually put 2 1ton straps on each spring

Be sure to take the stabilizer bar end links off. When I checked the clearance on my 92 I had some extra time and removed the spring then put the strut assembly back on. Easily lifted the wheel up with a floor jack. In stock form, the rear wheel will go up so far that the top edge of the rim will be past the fender lip.
