Shawn said something about the spring perch not being stong enough? Any of the guys at the Taurus site using them without snaping the perch?

I don't think anybody has installed the GC coil overs yet. But I think that the stock bearing plates will hold unless brutally punished. If the wheels come off the ground a significant amount, or if you autocross EXTREMELY hard, you might have a problem. For the most part, there won't be a problem.

I sure wouldn't drive it using the stock bearing plates. Take off your hood and drive around, look at how much give the bearing plate has with just the strut pushing on it, now add the weight of the car all on that one point. Would not be pretty

I know Coilovers are a whole different beast, but has anyone snapped the plates with springs (EiB or Intrax) and Koni's when Autocrossing or Roadracing?

im sure shawn will correct me if im wrong. But his coilover kits use race quality parts and Eibach springs, i wouldnt suggest GC coilovers even for a honda let alone a SHO. My motto when working on my cars, "if your gonna do it, do it right"

Thats what I want to make sure. I'm piecing together a road racer. And I want something that will last not just looks good and is cheap. Course I don't have the 1000 bucks sitting around for the Coil overs but I figure it's only alittle more saving over buying Intrax and Koni's. And its always nice to have the peice of mind when you hit a corner that your struts arn't going to come out your hood thumbs_u
