Same codes, same circumstances.....now for the fourth time. I'll start the car up first thing in the morning, back out of the driveway, proceed up a slight grade and within a couple of blocks..the old CE light comes on. Throttle response is sluggish off idle, but seems to clean up as the rpms rise. Outside air temp 50 deg. Codes reset between occurances.

173: HEGO sensor indicates system rich (RH)
177: HEGO sensor indicates system rich (LH)
219: Spout default to 10 deg. BTDC/Spout cir. open

What's happening? I thought that these sensors were not operative until the car was warmed up, and in closed-loop mode. I'm wrong again?

Both sensors are less than 1K old, so I tend to believe what they are indicating. No intake leaks, recent plugs, wires etc. Spout connectors clean and ohmned. Recent 190lpm fuel pump & filter. Maf sensor cleaned, K&N filter clean. Every damn thing cleaned and re-connected

Help would be most appreciated.

Only other thing I can think of is the ETC sensor, which should throw a code, thermostat mabye? Hows the temp, is it warming up? In a search leaking injectors were mentioned. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I get these same codes and my car has the exact problems his did...
I'm assuming the O2 sensors need changed. But, the 219 code is throwing me off...
I looked up the sticky on the SPOUT sensor. Does the code mean it physically came unplugged, or something else?
sorry for the confusion

Check wiring for the IDM signal from the DIS to the computer, and the SPOUT signal from the computer to the DIS. Make sure the SPOUT connector is not loose. It could also be something in the DIS. Download the SHO Engine Book for more information. You can probe the SPOUT and IDM signals with a LED test light.
