The Centerforce isn`t worth the money, and some say it`s worse than the OEM,i tend to agree with them.

If you are planning some mods buy a heavier clutch. I messed up and put a stock one back in my 92, now is broke. I'm going to buy a High Revs from SHOShop. I have some mods and thats why the stock one broke. My forth coming mods are going to push the High Revs Jr clutch, so for $60 more dollar I'm going one set up. I don't want to do a clutch job again. As for experience, I pulled the motor. It wasn't real bad, but still a pain. If you take your time you should do OK.

Talk to Shawn at IPT. He is working on an entire line of clutches, one of which he is installing in his own SHO. 1 of the 6 stages should be what you need.

CLUTCH JOB IN THE SHO IS A ROYAL PAIN IN THE A**!!! It can be done, but be prepared to want to put your foot through the car. It is very aggrevating. You have to support the engine with a cherry picker and drop the subframe and, arg......it is well worth saving yourself the aggrevation and having a shop do it. Then again, some of us are gluttons for punishment. SHOTIME warned me that it was a pain but I did it myself anyway....

No real problems perse.....just a royal pain. Started the job last saturday and the car is on jack stands in the driveway as we speak

I had bought the clutch plate and PP from SHOTIME and bought a TOB from Napa Auto, course it was the wrong one and the only part number they list.....so I go to Autozone, wrong one and only part number they have. Beware part number ending in 4060.....so I had to got to ford for the TOB. You will also need the pinch bolts and nuts and I had to replace the input shaft seals. There is a lot you can do while you have the subframe down and the engine supported. If you just pray before hand and go slow while taking many deep breaths you will get through and eventually you will be on here telling people to steer clear of the job if possible. Also, check out the link on SHOTIMES regarding clutches and if you have one, the Chiltons manual was actually pretty helpful believe it or not. Good Luck and let us know how it goes for you. I should be on the road by saturday afternoon

The ShoNut IRT clutch is a stock clutch with an upgraded pressure plate.I can`t recommend any others bacause i wouldn`t pay for them myself at the outrageous prices.I`m getting a $700+ clutch that one of the SHO distributors sells for $300-$400 but i can`t say from where.Lucky me

The IRT upgrade from SHOnut is basically the same thing as the Hi revs Junior from SHOshop(upgraded straps ,rivets and precision balanced). SHOshop just includes a bunch of extra parts in the package. With SHOnut you can order them seperately or not at all.

Since I just did my clutch job, SHONut is going to get my just the clutch, pressure plate and bolts from SHOShop. It is only going to cost me $421 plus shipping. I told them I didn't need all the other stuff. I thought you couldn't get the IRT clutch anymore.

SHO NUT doesn't sell the IRT anymore, the builder (Gary M) quit making them (busy schedule from what I hear). I have 1 IRT stocked away, I plan to run a higher friction disc with it in the future. Still searching for the right disc...

The late IRT clutch was great for track duty, as the strong cap screws and HD straps were up for some serious gear banging and high rpm shifts.

There is no free lunch with a performance clutch. If you are running some big hp and need something with more holding power, you'll pay for it in someway. They cost a lot more, and generally aren't as street friendly as stock.

The stock clutch is up for virtually any N/A motor, and holds up under about 50 hp of NOS or less. It held up (for at least a 1/2 dozen passes) for approx 325 ft/lbs of torque, which ain't bad. An N/A motor won't make enough sheer torque to make it slip assuming it was installed correctly, and in fairly low-mile good shape.

If you are looking at how to do a clutch, get SHO NUT's how to clutch install video. It's a GREAT tool.

Too bad they stopped selling them, they had plans for some upgrade packages as well. The IRT plate with a disc w/ approx 25% more holding power would have been a great clutch, and fairly low price.

Yup shonut does not sell the IRT any more

Too bad it was a good clutch for a good price. I think im going to just get the stock clutch. Other clutches are too pricy and the stock clutch does hold a lot of hp (proven by Mark's Car)

I would say get a ceramic throwout bearing but I don't exactly know what it does. I just heard it was supposed to make the clutch last twice as long. When I took it out of the wrapper it looked kinda metallic so I'm not sure what makes it ceramic.
Any ideas on how a ceramic throwout bearing helps? I read about it and it sounds good, so it may be a good idea for some of these guys to get.
