I have everything almost in place. But I cannot get the inside end over the quadrant and into the pawl. The repair manual says to remove the clutch pedal shield which is held on by two screws. I cannot find anything down there that answers that description.

In accordance with the manual I have not attached the end to the clutch actuator yet, although the cable is fitted into the boss.

Can anyone help with this? I have been trying to do this by feel, but I am stopped at this point.

Thanks in advance.

The shield is just some stupid plastic cover. I took mine off a while ago and haven't put it back on yet. It's just to protect your feet against getting cut??

Maybe I'll take a picture later today.

You haven't hooked the cable up to the tranny yet, have you?? It shouldn't be.

I had to take the pedal off and hook the cable over it, then put it all back into place to get mine on.
Good luck.

Pictures would be very helpful. Particularly if they come all the way from Germany to help fix a Ford.

Is the shield that white plastic thing at the absolute top of the clutch pedal? I couldn't even find the screws for that - operating strictly from feel.

Thanks.

I found it was easier to install by first starting from under the car and feeding the cable into the pedal area. This way you can feed more under the dash to easily connect with the quadrant. Then go back under and pull the extra cable out towards the transmission.

Go to the clutch page. The cover in mine is just a piece of black plastic that gets in the way. After I took it out I haven't put it back in, and the car is still functional.

Let me know of you have questions, pm me or [email protected]

Thanks. I don't have that cover on my clutch pedal, and I am almost the original owner (original owner had it about 3 months, then his company gave him a company car).

I guess I'll have to take the pedal off.

Thanks to everyone for their help.
