Hey guys, Well I'm gonna start by giving some info. So I got the my 95 Green ATX sho from my aunt who had it in her garage for like 9 years probably. So I got it out and she said I could have it since it didn't run and was in terrible shape. So I did a motor swap with another 3.2 I got for 150$ at a junkyard by some stroke of luck, since the motor in the car had blown heads and they were warped to **** beyond the machining tolerances. So I got the new motor in, it won't start, but that's because I have clogged injectors I think.
So Now to the main problem for this thread, the clicking. I'm really not sure what it is that's causing the click. All my fuses in the fuse box are intact. It kinda seems like a buzzer since it only happens when the key is in the run position. But it seems silly for a buzzer to click, but this is a strange car from what I'm used to working on, not to mention everything is a surprise to me since this is also my first SHO. I also have an error code 542, but I have fuel pressure so I was told to just ignore it, not sure if that has to do with anything. Also the clock in the dash doesn't work, maybe it has something to do with that.
Some help would be great appreciated!! :thankyou:

EDIT:
Also my power door locks don't work, but I'm pretty sure that's the remote keyless entry box. Not sure if that helps with anything!

Could be a classic blend door actuator (BDA) problem if the clicking is inside the dash. I assume you have the electronic climate control unit in place?

power door locks not working is typically due to the driver's door switch being bad, but there are several other possibilities for that too. unfortunately, you have to do the electrical troubleshooting to figure it out.

SHOdded, Yes I do have electronic climate control. If it is that couldn't it be caused by the fact that there's no vacuum in the lines since the car has never ran for more than a few seconds?

rubydist, the doors don't open with the passenger door buttons either. It could just be a loose connection with the switches, I'm not sure though, I'll do some troubleshooting with it later. Not a dire need of mine since i can just use the key

"If your Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (EATC) unit only blows hot air from the defrost, or you get clicking from behind the dash, you may have a broken Blend Door Actuator"

Yeah it seems like this is it. Does that mean I have to tear my dash apart? And if I do have to take it apart is there anything else I should do whilst back there?

Mostly labor intensive, preferably a 2 person job. Couple of good step by step writeups on this forum. Heater core is the other part to replace at that time.

Well what are the benefits of changing the heater core. I live in FL so like if it just doesn't get as hot then that's fine by me since it's like 90+ degrees here more than half the year. I just need the AC.

Heater cores tend to become leaky over time and leave coolant stains on your carpet. If you don't need the heater function, you could put in a bypass when it comes time.

You can run a self test on the AC to see if the BDA is bad. http://www.shoforum.com/showthread.php?t=117620&highlight=eatc+test

If the door is bad you can stop the noise by disconnecting it. If the clicking is intermittent, meaning that sometimes the AC works and blows cold air, you're gonna want to disconnect it when it's blowing cold so it'll stay in that position. The connector is behind the glovebox, which you can see after you drop the glovebox door down past its stops. You do this by bending in the stops. You'll see two connectors, I can't remember which is for the BDA but a good guess would be the connector with the thinner wires. I think the other connector is for the fan.

The clock probably just has its back light burned out, it sounds like a simple fix, but it isn't, at least I couldn't figure it out. If you can't find a working clock in the junk yard, you can get it new from Ford for like 70 bucks.

Alright Thanks! I'll run that test tomorrow sometime and I'll post the results too.

And this clock isn't honestly a big deal to me since I have my phone lol

if the power windows work, then I would still take a hard look at the drivers door switch. because iirc, the power for the windows and door locks comes into the driver's door switch and goes out to the other switches from there. if the windows work, that means the door switch is getting power, but may not be doing anything with it as far as the locks go.

Well I got a 02 code, I'm really thinking it's b/c there's no vacuum yet though. Once I get the car running good and all, I think it'll start working. If not then I guess I'm pulling my dash out lol
