Bored now
Well friends, it's getting that time of year again, and since we seem to have started a tradition of a festive meal in a festive town, I'd like to continue that tradition
The date will be Sat Dec. 13th, with a dinner time in the 5 ish range.
In keeping with tradition, location will be Frankenmuth MI, home to Bronner's Christmas Wonderland and some of the best chicken to be had anywhere at the Bavarian Inn. Cost for the meal is typically around $20 per person; it's all you can eat chicken with a full host of trimmings.
The town of Frankenmuth is just as busy in the winter as in the summer, Bronner's is of course the largest Christmas store in the world, and 5 miles away is the biggest outlet mall in Michigan for shopping. Or if you're like me, you visit downtown Frankenmuth for all the specialty shops (I prefer the Cheese Haus).
Another psuedo tradition has been sharing gifts. Traditionally I've tried to bring a little something for everyone, and I will endeavor to do that again this year, though now that I'm free of Ford, that may be a little tricky. Perhaps we could institute a "bring your own gift" to pass.
Anyway, please post up if you're interested, and which day you'd like this to be (6th or 13th). Not really interested in a different location; I know Frankenmuth really isn't close to anybody, but IMO it just wouldn't feel right doing this anywhere else. It's is an easy highway drive from any direction and with gas prices surprisingly low it shouldn't be that much to fill the tank.
Please try not to make this a last minute decision... Bavarian Inn is already getting pretty full, and I'll need to make reservations in the next couple weeks to make sure we can get a table.
