go to shotimes.com. They have a listing of what all the codes mean. I thought the CE codes were a 3 digit number system, but I could be wrong. Good luck.

I found another site that had excellent information regarding the EEC IV tests and code outputs. Check out this site: http://www.dalidesign.com/hbook/eectest.html

It sounds like you just retrieved the memory codes from the EEC with your scanner. Unless you performed a KEOR (key ON, engine running) test then pressed the accelerator within 2 minutes after the last code was output, you didn't run a cylinder balance test. For this test, the engine must be running while the EEC cuts one cylinder at a time and checks the drop in engine rpm.

You may want to just use the jumper method and watch the blinks of the CHECK ENGINE light as described in the link above.

I did the (key ON, engine running) and it said code 30!!It said cyldinder #3 low pressure! That is the only one that comes on. It started little after I put new plug wires on. Would that have anything to do with it. My check engine light comes on like 15 minutes or so after driving. Then it stays on and dont shut off.

I would try replacing the #3 plug wire and checking the plug and its gap to see if that corrects the problem.

If the code 30 is the first thing that came out, that doesn't mean cylinder 3 is weak. The code 30 is the engine ID code; it means the computer is dealing with a 6-cylinder engine. You have to wait a bit longer for EEC to run through its battery of tests, during which the engine will run quite poorly at times. After it's done, the idle will smooth out and you'll see a single flash of the CE light. When that happens, you have about 10 seconds to turn the steering wheel both ways, hit the brake, and snap the throttle wide open (the goose test), at least enough to get it over 4000 RPM.

After you do all this, EEC will start giving you codes, if it has any. Once it's finished, you can optionally run the Cylinder Balance test by tapping the gas. EEC will rev the engine to about 1500 RPM and hold it there, and cut out one cylinder at a time, looking for a drop in RPM. After it's done, it'll let you know if you have any weak cylinders (1 flash for #1, 2 for #2, 3 for #3, etc.).

And yes, the Gen 2s have 3-digit codes; only the Gen 1s use 2-digit codes.
