So just a lil bit ago in on my way to get blood work done and all of a sudden my sho decides to start sputtering/misfiring really bad and check engine light started flashing. Pulled into a parking lot turned the car off and popped hood. Noticed some wet splashes on engine cover. Not sure what it is. Waited a few minutes and turned the car back on and it was fine. Finished my drive to dr office with no issues. Anyone know what that could have been?

Was it after a brisk acceleration? If so, checked the intercooler for crud yet?

I was planning on doing that today if I had the chance.

Might as well check the knock sensor wiring for chafing, and see if there are codes. Usually the best time to check codes is before a restart, in case they are of the temporary variety.

Filled gas recently?
