Its been done. The front can be redrilled but not the back. you can get adapters as well for front and rear...

I believe it's been done on the back by adapting Probe hubs, or by disassembling a set of Probe rear hubs and a set of SHO rear hubs and putting 'em back together with the inner half of the SHO hub and the outer half of the Probe hub or something like that...I don't recall exactly.

Adapters are going to be ~1in thick and will need monstrous wheel offset.

Wouldn't redrilling the SHO's hub put the new stud too close to the edge? Going from a 5x108 to a 5x114.3 is a decent amount. IT might cause cracking if not cooled properly while drilling. You would have to drill the areas between the current bolt holts. My suggestion would be to find another car with similar offset wheels with a closer bolt pattern. Like maybe a 5x110(Saab) or 5x112(Mercedes) Then new your open to a whole new world of wheels and spacers. **** you could even drill it to 5x111 and then you could pick between the 2 bolt patterns. I know I can bolt medium offset 2005+ Mustang wheels that are 5x114.3 to my Cadillac STS's 5x115 hub using a smaller lugnut like a gorrila nut. Lol.

I had adapters made almost 2 years ago that were just shy of 3/4" thick and kept the wheels/tires in the fenders.

I guess you could mix and match parts to get the probe parts to work...make sure you do a write up then so the info can be passed on to everyone else. And again for reference, you can drill out the fronts, but the rears you cannot for the reasons adidas kn mentioned.

Anyone have any new info on this subject? There are so many choices of wheels in the 5x4.5" bolt pattern... maybe it would be possible to use some GM hubs like something from a fwd Buick LeSabre or a Regal?

OK first off

The hubs are pressed in the bearings. (front)

The bearings are pressed in the knuckles (front)

So you need to find a bearing that fits with your "new" hub AND that fits in the knuckles....very unlikely.

Plus the rear could be even trickier with the ABS pressed.

So basicly its good luck. You're better off with adapters , even then it will screw the offset AND it will limit your wheel choice.

Theres plenny of wheels on ebay , just do a search for "5x108"
