I want to swap out the center console out of my 92 for one from a 94. I got the console but my question is how do you remove the ashtray. It looks like it is held by rivits. Im not sure though. If anyone can help me with this it would be appreciated.

You have to take the stereo units out so that you can get to the nuts that are on those studs, I think. I took all that apart years ago so I'm a little foggy on the details, but I'm pretty sure that's the only way to get to the nuts.

Yes, you have to remove the head units first to get to the nuts, I would also remove the black trim that the radio snaps into just so you would have some room to work. When you got your console did you get the mounting brackets that hook to the bottom of the dash? You'll need them if not as well as the ones that bolt to the floor, there all different than the old ones.
