Guys, I have a 93 ATX that I am pulling the following codes on:
172
176
327
332
632

I just replaced the O2 sensors, so I'm not sure why 172 and 176 are still there? It looks like 327 and 332 have to do with the EGR. Any ideas on how to fix those? Also, I'm assuming the 632 is because the car has a newer trans in it and I don't think the OD off was ever reconnected.

Thank you!

you have to reset the codes, or the stored codes will stay forever. reset, then drive a bit (~30 miles) and see what codes are pulled.

Correct me if i am wrong, to properly clear the codes, you must disconnect the scanner as it is reading the codes. This worked for me anyway

It makes me sad every time someone throws O2's at a pair of matching rich or lean codes.

Usually when both banks indicate the same condition, it's an actual condition and you should first investigate the causes of that condition, not throw brand new O2's at it.

Think of it this way; is your first reaction to a low fuel light to replace the fuel level sender, or is it to put gas in the tank?

Thank you for the reply's guys. Mr Anonymous, what would be the proper approach then? What should I do now? Any other opinions people?

Thank you!

Also, I ran a bottle of Seafoam through a tank before replacing the O2 sensors, but to no avail. This was about 3 tanks ago.

Thanks!

Watching the thread here as I have the same problem with my 95ATX. Cleaned everything there was to clean, checked for vacuum leaks and still get a check light that comes on off at random. Clear codes and put in 02 sensors and still no prevail. One of these days I will come across something simple that will stop the problem or someone here will give me a fix.

matching lean codes that are not fixed with new o2 sensors are due to more air getting into the engine than it expects. 90% of the time this is due to a vacuum leak. the rest of the time would be a dirty or bad mafs or tps or both.

there are a lot of vacuum hoses on this engine, and after 20 years of being toasted, many of them are hard and cracked and can leak like crazy and give you lean codes. you need to carefully search for vacuum leaks.
