I got some fluid for the tranny today is castrol mercon good? or is it the right fluid for the trans.

I would use NAPAs Merc 5, it's like 2.79 a quart and made by Valvoline.

each trany likes its own type of fluid. only thing i can say is put it in and see how your trany acts with it.

There have been past positive reports regarding Castrol Mercon. It's worth a try.

As long as it's Mercon, it's fine. I have just put in Parts-Master brand Mercon V after flushing it out the tranny, and it's all good.
