Well first off, It's great to be back! :thumb: I missed this forum. Anyway, I posted a question concerning my purge solenoid on the temp forum but did not get much feed back. So I thought I would repost it here. I found that the hose coming off my purge solenoid leading to the vent canister is missing. The solenoid is still pluged into the electrical connection and the hose leading to the intake is hooked up. Question, Can I keep running my car this way? I do not know how long it has been disconnected fron the canister. I would appreciate any advise on this matter. Thanks!

If the hose running between the cannister and the purge valve is off, what'll happen is, when the PCM commands the valve to open in order to purge the cannister of fuel vapor, instead all it's gonna do is allow a whole bunch of unmetered air into the system.

Not a good idea to leave it off.

Rockledge, I did a search and found some good info posted by you on this subject. Thanks. I do have another important question. I reconnected the purge solenoid to the only hose I could find not connected to anything. It seems to go to a connection just below the radiator. Anyway, Is it normal to have a constant vacumn (sucking) on the connection at the intake. There was no sucking or vacumn coming from the unconnected end of the solenoid before I hooked it back up. Thanks

I'm having a little trouble understanding what you mean by "having a constant vacuum at connection at the intake"...?

The vacumn is comming from where you attach the vacumn line to the intake. My guess now is that it is supposed to be that way so it can such in the gas vapors when the soleniod opens. What I need now is a way to find out if the soleniod is opening.
