I just picked up a set of used ones and noticed the the 'new' front one is shot also so I'm just going to leave it out for now. I don't want to get caught with my pants down on having coolant handy. I'm sure one of you has experienced this. also is the tranny mount doable without loosening the front mount?

Yes, the rear can come out without opening the coolant system.

You might have to drop the rear of the subframe a bit, as well as jack the motor up a bit, to get the rear mount out though.

FWIW, if you take off the right front tire, you can do the rear one by simply unbolting it and pulling it out the side...I've done it many times. Never once have I dropped the subframe to change a motor mount.

And yes, the tranny mount's doable without dropping any other mounts.

You should loosen the front motor mount nut to allow some flex as you have to raise the motor to clear that long bolt on the bottom of the aft mount from the hole in the subframe.

lol i hear ya on the looseness of the front one. when i did both mine at the same time i just took of both nuts so the entire side of the engine could be lifted up. and no you don't have to drop the subframe at all. its quite easy without doing so. good luck!
