Is it possible to use the calipers from an '01 Taurus in upping to the 11.6" rotors from a 96 SHO? The FN74 brackets were used from '01 and up on the Tauruses on their calipers, and you can buy fully loaded calipers for the 01' and up that come with pads and the mounting brackets. I was just wondering if it was possible to buy them and use them instead of tossing them, or returning the bracketless calipers as a core.

I would just post in the wanting to buy section for some of the correct caliper brackets. When I did my 96 upgrade I got the newer Taurus caliper brakets from the local parts store, and they wouldn't fit. Apparently the parts store had the wrong part # listed for the brackets. I ended up having to return them...I got the correct ones from a forum member. I have also seen them avialable on ebay.

The front calipers are the same from 1994-to-present. So if you already have 94-07 calipers and they're in good shape, you just need the caliper brackets, rotors, and pads.

If you're replacing the calipers, simply getting the 01-07 Taurus loaded calipers will work fine.

Ended up snagging a pair of the brackets on ebay and rebuilding them with good slider pins. But this is good info, so hopefully it stays in the search!
