So, I got unlucky and lucky the other day- unlucky in the sense that someone's truck kicked a piece of debris into my path, lucky in the sense that the bumper cover and the tire took the brunt of the damage. There is a small tear in the cover and the very tip/end of the cover tore at the hole where the connecter secures it to the fender. The tire blew out completely, but I have road hazard coverage on it. Photos to follow.

Questions:

1. What is the best way to secure the corner? I don't want it to be constantly popping loose and sticking out. I can replace the connector, but the "loop" it passes through is torn.

2. Any advice on how to minimise the appearance of damage to the cover? If you look at the pictures below, they were taken with the flash on, and most of the scuffs are not deep, and should buff out. It won't be perfect, but it's honestly not that bad. The worst part is the one small crack/tear, which actually sticks out a bit from the cover. For scale, the scuff/crack/tear can be covered by a dime.

3. There are two possible orientations for the autopark sensors, connection on the top, or connection on the bottom. Does it matter which way they are installed?

Thanks!

Coming from a Body shop background, those bumper mount tabs are a bitch to fix. Theres only so much space to snap them in, to thick they won't go in too thin they break when pressed in. Best bet if you don't want to buy a bumper, get the bumper quick release kit. Either button style or loop style.

I actually torn the tab when I removed my cover. I just drilled a hole next to the torn hole, and zip tied it to where the push clip secures. Took me 1 min.

I picked up some thin stainless steel washers and epoxied them to the bottom of the cover, right under the hole/loop. They don't extend out beyond the cover in any dimension, and they almost perfectly match the hole for the push-pin (the new pin will pass through them, I checked). The only place where it is adding any thickness is on the bottom, which is covered by the inner wheel well trim. It SHOULD work ok, but today is the day when I reinstall the bumper cover, so we'll see.
