I have a 93 MTX and I'm experiencing a bucking under a gradual acceleration. It is most noticeable in 3rd gear at a higher RPM gradual acceleration (3-4K). I think the overall performance has decreased gradual, but im not for sure. Since its erratic I'm assuming it has to do with a sensor of some sort. I regularly clean the MAF and use decent gas. I don't think its oil in the wells, but there is a slight bit in one of them. The car has 160K on it. Fuel economy doesn't seem to suffer too much. The car does seem to run slightly better with the MAF disconnected, but it might be my imagination. No CEL light. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you have an injector that is not firing properly.

Check all your wires leading from the injectors, especially where they cross the intake, or anywhere else they contact metal. Use good electrical tape to insulate anything that looks like a possible bare spot.

Lots of things can cause this, but this is a good place to start.

Also, if the bucking goes away when the secondaries open up, replace your fuel filter. Don't know why it works, but mine did the same thing. I replaced the filter and it quit.

Good luck.
