I took out a rear Koni the other week. I managed to **** main seal on shock. I need to find replacment seals.!!! I cant find anything local at the fluid power shops, and Koni tells me they don't sell internall parts. I have contacted a few Koni authorized rebuilders and they also don't sell seals or internal parts.

Koni's have around 30,000 miles. Its a shame to see them go to waste. It only takes about five minutes to break down and rebuild shock. So paying some shop over $100 to rebuild is out of the question.

It kind of sucks because one of the main reasons I purchased Koni's was because of there warranty. I was a tad mislead, they have A very limited warranty. I have no invoice because I purchased them threw the shop I used to work at.

I should also mention fronts having been leaking from adjustersfor most of their life.

If anyone has had a similar experience, and knows were to purchase seals/rebuild kit/ or a seal that will work in place of original that would make my day. Otherwise there worth their weight in short steel too me.

I would go to an office supply store, buy a receipt pad and write my own receipt.

However, they still may not rebuild them for free. I spoke with a koni rep a few months ago and that was the feeling that I got. I have 3 sets of koni's; one that I took off the car complete with eibachs, one that I installed with coilovers and one set that I was going to use with another set of coilovers. The trouble now is figuring out which set to keep as a spare and/or rebuild for use with heavier springs.

Koni seemed to be kind of sketchy. Will sell you $600 worth of shocks but we don't sell parts or oil!
The info that comes with them says they are not even warrantable untill 2/3 of oil leaks out.
But they work so damn good.

Buy a new one, swap the bad seal and return it as defective for a refund. If that's their attitude, heck with 'em.
