I finally started my 1990 sho ... and happy to say she runs smoothly

Now i am looking into other areas of repair .... like hooking the ac up and getting it up and running.

One thing I noticed is this 1990 doesnt have a ETAC .... its manual buttons for the ac.

That said the switch for the vent positions can hardly be turned ..... due to lack of use and after a few times im afraid i might break it so i just stopped

can you lubricate the cable that connects the dial pad that changes your settings from floor vent ... to front vents to defrost ... etc .... and can u get to the door itself just to spray lubricant on it to get it to move easier with out taking the whole dash out. I know how to take the instrument panel off ....

thanks

I would say you are on the right path. If the armored cables does not have a plastic sheating on them, I would **** it with something like WD-40. Do not expect immediate action, as there never is any. Flex them as much as you can while they are wet with the lubricant. Do that for several days in a row, and lubricate everything in sight.

And also say a prayer of thanks that you do not have the EATC.

Why? They are easier to deal with IMHO.

In talking with my AC guy he said that blend doors fail more often with the manual controls because people often move the settings with the fan on high, which puts extra stress on the BDA.
