Black Smoke

I get some black smoke out of the exhaust when I rev the engine or accelerate. I can't see it when I'm driving, but others can from behind me. The car runs perfectly, no codes, and it's great on gas. I know black smoke is from a rich A/F ratio, but the smoke is the only symptom I'm getting.

Anyone know whats going on??

Not much. I get the same thing. I think other SHO owners do too.

My 90 did that with full throttle. Ran great though. Compression was somewhat low on one cylinder.

Bad cattalatic converters maybe?
