Yes Borla is a great choice for the SHO. Seems like it was hard to obtain Borla a couple of years ago. I really enjoyed the Magnaflows on my V8. I agree 6 cylinder rice sounds like crap for the most part on performance muffs. 8 cylinder rice however on stock is pretty good like in Infiniti on factory muffs for 2003.

I am not trying to rice it up, but I do like the V8 sound that is eaten up by the stock mufflers. We are not trying to make it sound like something it is not, we (or at least I) want to get that unrestricted V8 sound that is gobbled up by the existing mufflers. Mustangs just happen to have a less-restrictive exhaust than our SHOs. I don't want it obnoxiously loud, I like a deep, mellow tone that opens up at WOT. thumbs_u
*sigh* alright, but you wake me up when you come home from work one night and i'll be ****** off.

i dig the mellow tone, but i dont dig the glass-packs style HUGE sound.

having the sound of the V8 is fine, but having a sound of a bigger V8 is kinda ricey, IMO.

trying to make the 3.4L sound like a 5.0L just isnt what its all about, but to each his own.

my taste in V8's is mellow and non-raspy at idle and under 5k or so, but then starting to open up at 5k+, and not making it any louder inside (hence the delta series).

Oops, shouldn't have posted in that way. I have have the V-Force for about 9 months and from what I can tell there is no breakdown or rust and sound just as good as they did on day 1. Of course they are not chrome plated or anything like that but I think they are great mufflers
Can you post a sound clip? How long have you had them? Is there a raspy sound in the high revs? Is it quiet in the low revs?
I'm afraid that I don't have a sound clip. It is just a slight rumble at low rpm's, but when you pass someone WOT they know it! Not quite enough to wake the neighbors but you could give it a good try. I have had them for 8 or 9 months-- got them at Delta Muffler. $60 each-- they even welded the factory tips on them for me.

Why not? Most 3.4L will cook a 5.0L. I have the Silver Bullets and am quite pleased with them. Been on the car for 4 years with no sign of rust at all. And a pretty good rumble too.

You mean that the 3.4 will cook the 5.0 sound wise? Cuz a stock 3.4 could not out-perform a 5.0. Then again, I have never tried...but I coul not see a SHO out-accelerating a 5.0.

Whatch U talkin' 'bout Willis?

A V8 SHO does have the ability to take on an old 5.0. I've beat on some older 5.0s at the track. Check out some performance time websites and you'll see that some years the 5.0 was quite a dog.

I've spanked some pretty good on the street from a roll too.

From a roll I can understand, nothing can take us on from a roll thumb but I still have a hard time believing that a SHO can beat a 5.0 off the line. I am not calling anybody a liar here, but this is something that I have a hard time believing. MAYBE a genI SHO in mint condition against a very old 5.0. I could see the SHO winning that one. I am not about to go out and challenge a 5.0 to prove a point.

Hmm, well maybe you should try it. A stock 5.0L isn't that much of an engine IMHO.

Well maybe to help settle this argument, I'll pit my 1990 5.0 LX fastback against my friend's 94 SHO in a quarter mile. :D 5.0s will vary widely due to year, body, trim and transmision. 1986 and later are fuel injected. 5.0 mustangs are around 3000lbs give or take. You've got the GT and LX trims. The GT is 300 lbs heavier than the LX. For bodies, you've got coupe, fastback and convertable. Convertables are pretty damn heavy, coupes are the lightest, and fastbacks are in the middle... but they look the best! As for the transmission, they came with the AOD and T-5. Neither are well suited for more than MAYBE 300 hp. Naturaly the manual T-5 is a little faster than the AOD. So if you race a GT convertable with an AOD, you're gonna smoke him unless you've got a flat tire or something. However, a LX coupe with a T-5 will give you a run for your money. However I've no doubt that a rolling SHO would be invincible unless the mustang was packing some serious hp.

I do not think that will help, since the '94 SHO is not the V8 version that we are talking about. As per curb weights, I think you are running low for the Mustangs. When this came up a number of months ago, I went to the Ford dealership which a friend of mine owns and had them look up the actual shipping weights for a number of Mustangs, that is, the weight they paid to have delivered. They were mainly closer to 3500 LBs than to 3000, if I remember right. The thread is still here somewhere, if you want to check it.

Believe it or not I have actually beat a uh-hum, stock 5.0 most of the way down the 1/8. Caught me at the end though, so it can be done. i don't know how good the driver was but I surprized myself-- so don't go knocking the smaller liter size to quickly.

My bad! When he first got (inherited) it he said it was a 94 with a v8, but i opened his hood the other day and there it was, a v6. Then he told me it was a 96, not a 94. I'll still race him though thumb

[/qb]
How much did you pay for them? [/QB]
Had both 50series installed with new tips and removing resonator at Meineke for 425.00. Seeing they hit me for 137.00 each on the mufflers. shrug

I had a 1991 Police car style Mustang (LX) and it was a phenom at about 40 miles an hour when you punched it. I never felt that same punch in my SHO at any speed. The SHO was a great performer but the LX Mustang even in 1991 kicked it. Apples to Oranges because each car was created with a differant profile from the factory.

My Silver Bullets with two new tips and install were under $250.00. This also included removal of the resonator and new bolts in the 3rd cat.

I just picked up the new flowmaster 40 series delta flows. They are now making the Flowmaster Delta Flow 40 & 50 Series Mufflers in 409 Stainless Steel. I cant wait to get them on the car. I want to get the resonator off as well. Then I will decide on the cat...
