Do you get what you pay for? I would like to get a new set of mufflers for my SHO. I like that nice V8 rumble. I am not in the mood to pay $300 for new muffers.pevans2703:
I've got V-Force, they are a bit less expensive than flomasters but they sound really good, nice and throaty. About $60 each.

Can you post a sound clip? How long have you had them? Is there a raspy sound in the high revs? Is it quiet in the low revs?pevans2703:
Oops, shouldn't have posted in that way. I have have the V-Force for about 9 months and from what I can tell there is no breakdown or rust and sound just as good as they did on day 1. Of course they are not chrome plated or anything like that but I think they are great mufflers
Hmmmmmm.... Flowmasters = high school drop-out? Well, I'd rather be thought of as a high school drop-out with a testosterone sounding exhaust than to be considered a ricer with a rubber band / gerbil drive / fart can exhaust... but hey, that's just me.SCOTTDW:
Magnaflows are good. They will enhance your stock sound and protect you from the stupid high school drop-out sound that we all have heard on Flowmaster Mustangs.
I am not trying to rice it up, but I do like the V8 sound that is eaten up by the stock mufflers. We are not trying to make it sound like something it is not, we (or at least I) want to get that unrestricted V8 sound that is gobbled up by the existing mufflers. Mustangs just happen to have a less-restrictive exhaust than our SHOs. I don't want it obnoxiously loud, I like a deep, mellow tone that opens up at WOT. thumbs_uFireRanger:
if you want it loud, just poke holes in the muffler with a screw driver![]()
lol, just kidding.
Why do you want the SHO to sound like a mustang? I just don't get it. Seems like the often cliche' "ricer" syndrome to me. you want it to sound more than it is, why?
the 3.4L V8 ISNT a 4.6L Cobra engine, its not a 5.0. its a 3.4L. i never understood the obsession with the super loud exhaust notes.
I like it throaty, but not raspy at any RPM. and when its WOT, i dont want it to sound like a 454 off the headers. just nice and mellow off the line, maybe slightly louder than stock, but then start to open up in the higher RPM range. something like a Flowmaster Delta 50 is what i like.
