I was just wondering what people recommend for a place to get the tools/shims for a valve adjustment?

I have had nothing but great service from SHO NUT.
When I rent my shim kit to do my valve lash adjustment, I wouldn't think of getting it anywhere but from him.
Actually, I'm hoping to have him do it but that may not be possible due to both of our schedules.
I may see if he can fit it in when he's putting my Quaife in.

Either way, he has given me great service.

Just my .02

There are several places to order from...SHO NUT is a great place to order. SPMotorsports is another one...I have great success in ordering from them on line and very professional. There is a place in Cincinatti, but I would not recommend that to you.

To me, service is most important than price. Shop around and good luck.

SHONUT for the shims. Great service. SHONUT does not include the tools with the shims, but you can buy them. It's cheaper to get the tools from the company that makes them, OTC. You can get the tappet compressor/holder for $42 delivered. Go to
http://www.shotimes.com/SHO3.html and check under valve lash adjustment for the phone number and part numbers. When you use the tappet holder, tie a string to it and a heater hose or something because it can pop out of place and fall into the engine compartment and slow you down.
