Every SHO there is beautiful. But yes, that is attention to detail if I have ever seen that. I have never seen anyone paint exhaust components, though.

Attention to detail yes, but deserving to win best of SHO, not in my honest opinion. Still cool the have a Gen III win though! Had a nice photo album documenting almost everything too. :thumb:

Anyhow, I'm back in the running next year again boys, watch out! :D

He can't seem to keep the same SHO for more than a few months. :bonk:
Jason will you actually be keeping this one until next summer?

The winner is a nice car, but personally, I would have stayed with one detail color for the whole car, but it is nice to see a gen III get best overall! :thumb: Larry, IMO, I think that your car has a cleaner look, I really like your air dam, could you tell me how you made it? Is it made from lawn edging?

Yuppers Thanks. Menards IIRC @$12.00 for a box - you get two dams out of it. Some folks saw off the bead, I choose to leave it on. Of course in the winter it comes off. Chicago don't pay me to plow!!

Sorry to change the subject here, but this is about Larry's air dam. I have the material now to make an air dam,so what is a good method of fastenning it to the car?

Flat head phillips sheet metal screws through the lower existing air dam. Fasten them as high up as you can, best case is get black ones, if not then after installation, cover the silver heads with a dab of black paint. The screws don't need to be all that long either. Have fun

:thumb: Thanks Larry, looks like I've got another fun project. Wonder just how many people will notice my car's new lower chin?

HOOOOYAAAAA!!!!!!! Now my car has a new 4 inch air dam. Thanks for the help Larry, it was pretty easy to install, and at highway speeds the car actually feels more stable up front. :thumb: Cool!!!!
I found professional grade edging at Lowes, $6.24 for a twenty foot roll. I did not cut the bead off, or reduce the width at all, however I did trim off the plastic strip on the back side of the edging to ensure a flush fit against the stock air dam, and also trimmed off the plastic strip closest to the edge on the front side but left the other strip intact. Cool mod and cheap too!!! :thumb:

I don't know, I would go with the "******" lawn edging that look like pieces of wood. ;)

I understand to each his own, but I don't like the way it looks. Looks cheap to me. Plus, what is the aerodynamic advantage to this mod??? Keep the car closer to the ground at high speeds? I would guess you are just adding more frontal area and slowing the car down at higher speeds...

actually, aside from personal asethitic value, it does perform a valuable function. It forces air up to the radiator which sits directly above it. Other than looks there is nothing to be gained by this mod.

Ahhh, I didn't think of that. Gen I & IIs have a small plastic piece that force air up and through the rad as well. I removed it from an old Sable and noticed a difference (higher readings) in the temp guage during the summer.

:thumb: Like said, "To each his own", my car is black and the air dam blends in well, however I do plan on giving it a coat of flat black "fusion" paint to make it look a little better.

Lol thanks, I have seen that pic, but I wanted to see one of yours. See how the black from the dam contrasts with the SF. :thumb:

Has anyone actually done this with a SF? As far as I know, SHOWHAT9 and Marty's ES are all that I've seen.
