How long is the Positive & Negative battery cables? My wallet can't quite stand the cost of OEM replacements or what the Sho Shop charges. I don't really want to yank them out only to find out that I have to wait a couple weeks for replacements.

Thanks,

Eric

The battery cables can and do go bad. I had a 91 Tempo and those wires were so corroded on the inside I was supprided they still were good. You can go down to an Autoparts store and pay around $15 for new battery and negative cable. I dont know the length but you can get the longest ones and it should do it. Also If you just follow the wire with a string you can measure it. If they happen to not have enough you can get stereo wire though its not meant for this application but should work.

Thanks for the string Idea, didn't think of that. The clamps are tosted from years of being taken off and on, I thought about replacing just them, but I have a feeling that the cables could also be coreded, might as well replace the whole thing instead on spending a lot of time trying to get just new clamps on and a year later replace the cables.
