my light is possessed. i just installed a 1000 watt amp and additional 55 watt driving lights. still reads 14.6

Now take a reading with all your accessories on, including those lights, and crank it up so that amp takes some juice.

Then see what your reading is.

wow, light came back on when it sits overnite and goes off after ten minutes each day.
