Baro/MAP sensor part # verification

I want to verify that the part number from AZ is correct for this part: Wells SU216. Also, to make sure I am positive of the location of this piece it is mounted on the firewall behind the intake? There was a box their with an electrical connection I unplugged it to see if their was a difference in performance and the only difference was my airbag light kept blinking. So, I moved to the left where their is a sensor which has 2 vaccum tubes connected to it and ontop of those tubes is a 2 wire plug. This is the BARO/MAP sensor correct? Thanx, Doug

The BARO sensor is mounted to the firewall.

If you have an ATX, the other part (if it is mounted to the firewall) is probably the EVR for the EGR system.

If that piece is mounted to the rear of the intak, it is the solenoid for the secondaries (IMRC for 93 on).

This piece was mounted to the fire wall also it was to the left of the little black box on the firewall. It is not the IMRC which is on the intake. The Baro/MAP sensor has no tubes connected to it at all, just an electrical plug?

My '93 ATX did not have a MAP/Baro sensor. It is built in to the DPFE.

No, it isn't. The DPFE sensor is only used to measure EGR flow.

Come to think of it, the ATXs don't even have BARO sensor.....

Yes, it is the '95 ATX in my sig, and I have no access to a digital camera or anything to put a picture on here. The box I unplugged and then got a flashing Airbag light was about an inch to two inches to the left of the wiper motor mounted on the firewall. The second piece which was probably about 6in to the left of that box has two vaccum tubes going into it..the first goes into it from the EGR valve and another that goes to the intake, then above those two tubes is an electrical plug and when I unplugged that it made no difference. The reason I suspect it is I am running rich and occasional hard starts, I'm also investigating the hard starts with a fuel problem that I addressed tonight in another thread. So, where I live is at sea level, I was in Tahoe last weekend (aprox. 7k ft.) and the car ran and started sweet, so I thought I would investigate this sensor as a culprit. Thanx, Doug

The component with the two vacuum lines and the two wire connector is as I previously said: the EVR valve.

I thought that the EGR valve was connected to the EGR tube and was bolted to the intake? Well, guess I was wrong, learn something new everyday, thanx. Well, if I (being an ATX) don't have the BARO sensor what would be an equivilant to that, or cause it to do better in higher altitudes? Or should I just abandon the whole thought? Thank you Steve for your input and patience with me.
