ATX Tensioner (Timing Belt Tensioner)

I'm looking to get the latest update on aquiring a new or rebuilt tensioner for my buddy's '93 ATX. Any body have any info????

We are still working on the rebuild. We are trying to get more information on how the tensioners were originally built (type and quantity of fluid). In the mean time we can only offer good used tensioners as we find them.

I am sending you a PM in case you are interested in a good used one.

I have a new one in the box still that I'd be willing to loan you Mike. You could measure the spring tension, have the oil analyzed, do whatever you need. Just send it back (re-assebled, of course) when you are done. Let me know by e-mail or PM.

Build Your own! It's quite easy actually. I have one that I built on my 94 ATX. Been running it for about 3 months now without any issues. Taking off the belt is a sinch now and it uses the stock housing. Wouldn't do it any other way.

Shosource.com has rebuilt tensioners for $140. Good customer service and fast shipping. Have been running one of theirs for 5 months and no issues.

I bought a rebuilt one from Scott (whiteguy93) and it's worked like a champ for quite a while now. It's nice not having to worry about that stupid thing again.
