Hey Guys, My sho has 145k mile and It was rebuilt around 90 to 100k mile by previous owner... The problem is that when I step on gas and it start downshift fine and rev up to around 5k rpm it would slip to 7k instantly. I have to ease it thur 5k in order to accelerate properly and for it to shift into drive. Also I noticed that in few mile ago I could smoke my hides but now it cannot. rpm shows 3k when I take off hard and no smoking the hides. so? tranny rebuilt time??? Paul.

Yeh it sounds like it, youve probably got only a few thousand miles left or maybe less than a hundred if you keep redlining it, making the gears slip, and trying to"smoke your hides" eventually it wont even engage into gear. I havent blown my sho tranny yet but have wiped out a couple of Chevys in the past. The easier you take it the longer it will last. Unfortunately unless your just really low on fluid that is the only preventive maintenance there is at this point.
You may want to take it easy on your auto SHO and start saving up for something manual and rear wheel drive, they are a little more practical for smoke shows.
....Got any good parts
