Any suggestions as to using an aftermarket front motor mount for my 93 atx? RCM has both OEM and anchor brand.

Should be ok with whichever is cheapest. I've used the Anchor brand before. Just make sure you get it torqued down properly or else you'll be changing it again in a few months.

From what I've seen over the years...anything but OEM for the ATX's causes problems. In that you will be replacing the Anchor mount very soon.

I've had good luck with Anchor mounts, but on a lot of them the top bolt plate isn't angled correctly and you will have a heluva time getting the bolts through it into the engine. I had to get a drill and a big ol' bit and hog the holes out at an angle.

Other than that, it worked fine. It worked on my '94 ATX for at least 30,000 miles before I wrecked it.

The brand you should at all costs avoid is Pioneer. I used two of their mounts, and both failed within 1,000 miles, and castastrophically so. I.E. they separated, which is BAD JUJU.

Get a solid mount from Scott MacIntyre(sp) (Whiteguy93). They are the bomb. Yes, there's more NVH, but MY GOD is it so much more responsive. You tap the throttle and the car freakin' leaps. It's amazing. They really aren't much more than a standard mount, and as a bonus, they are way easier to install. Tons more room.

This is the route i will go if i ever get another ATX. I had one new mount fail on me within 3 months of installation but it was under warranty and they replaced it for free. If that wasnt the case i would have done the solid mount.

Man, I really should start charging advertising fees lol.

You'll like the mount, though, I can promise you that. Makes the sluggish ATX really feel alive.

I have a reinforced mount I got from TYSHO years ago, before he disappeared. Makes a huge difference, and you never have to worry about it breaking again.

Go solid and no more shiny spot on the intake! NVH does up a little bit, but the performance difference makes it well worth it. Only do the front mount solid though, unless you intend to track the car. And a Gen III subframe swap, if you haven't done so already is the next thing to look into.
