To all the SHO gods (and you guys too) I am preping to change the tranny fluid and have a couple quick questions. First, how do I get out ALL of the fluid without any fancy tools? Second what is the best fluid for a 93 ATX with 155,000 mi. The job is easy enough and I plan on installing a new motorcraft ATX filter, but I am unable to find any threads on the best way to remve the fluid. The pan part is easy, I am more in need of info on how to get most of the fluid out without major removal of the tranny. The tranny is going to be rebuilt or replaced in the spring.

Thanks all,
Jason

If you want to remove all of the fluid then drop the pan, clean it and replace the filter. Fill the tranny with 6 quarts of fluid. Then disconnect the cooler line after it has gone through the coolers and put this line into a bucket and start the car, leave it in park. Let it pump out all the fluid intill it stops pumping or the fluid changes color to its cleaner state. Then put about another 5-6 quarts in the tranny and bring it to its proper full level when hot. That will exchange all of the fluid in the tranny. But, if you are gonna rebuild/replace in the spring I would just do the pan and filter, no point doin a full flush, IMHO.
