I have a 94 ATX which had a non functioning cruise control a few months ago. I replaced both the clockspring and the cruise servo and everything was fine. After having the transmission rebuilt, I no longer have cruise. We have hooked up the test computer to the self test port and the VSS and all the other sensors seem to be working. I have voltage at the connector into the servo for everything but the green/white wire that tells me that the clock spring is probbaly okay. According to the wiring diagram this wire comes from the speed sensor located on top of the trans. Is it possible to get a reading from the computer for the speed sensor and not get a reading at the crusie servo? Are the two wires coming out of the speed senor? One to the computer and the other to the servo. Any ideas what else to look at?

Check the cable for the cruise control that connects to the throttle body?

The cable seems to be fine and I have even replaced the plug going into the crusie servo to ensure that the connections there are complete. My latest thought is that there are two wires coming from the VSS. One that goes to the computer and the other that goes to the cruise servo. I'm thinking that the one going to the servo may have been pinched or something when the trans was resbuilt. Anyone know how many wires come out of the VSS?

I have checked the computer for engine codes in the past and there have been none. The crusie worked fine until the trans was rebuilt and the only thing that was replaced during the trans rebuild that would affect things is the VSS. The strang things is that the computer gets readings from it because the cars shifts fine.

The single output of the VSS is split at splice S143. From there, it goes to the PCM, VAPS, and Speed Control module. S143 in the harness that connects to C108. C108 is the connector that mates the short VSS harness to the rest of the vehicle harness.

Is there a diagram or something that your looking at to get the s143? I assume that is a reference to the splice number.
