ATF fluid change-how many quarts?

The manual says 11.6 quarts for a full change. If you're just draining and refilling (not flushing) you'll only get about half of that in it.

My rule of thumb is to check the fluid level with the engine hot (to confirm its not high or low), drain it, measure what came out, add that much back, then check again while hot after running the P-N-D-R cycles.

Thanks! I have about a half case now, I'll pick up a few more quarts just to be safe before I drain it.

Yea, I usually get just over 5 quarts. Like, opening the 6th and barely using any.
