Hello everyone, My car has been garaged for over a year now and I need a 60K done if I want to get it on the road again. I dont have any tools or much experience. Is there anyone in the NYC area that can come to my garage and do a 60K for me? I understand this is labor intensive and would not expect it to be a cheap process. I would rather someone with SHO experience because I dont want to take it to some local shop that doesnt know anything about these engines.

The car was driving fine before I garaged it. It leaks oil because my seals are shot especially the cam seals.

95 MTX SHO 155k miles on her.

Thanks

I'm in brooklyn, but I couldn't get to your car for a couple of weeks. Having some work done at the shop and its taking forever to get done. Send me a pm and maybe we can work something out.

First off I recomend the PA SHO Shop, in Selinsgroove pa run by area91. Not in NY, but close.

If not a friend and I could do it, try and contact him first.

PA SHO Shop is the closest shop that will do an excellent job. If someone steers you towards a Shop in NJ called Brunswick Automotive, AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Brian at the PA SHO Shop will take care of a 60k in a matter of hours. He practically breaks the sound barrier when doing a 60k :woo-hoo:

Can you please explain why Brunswick Automotive should be avoided? I know I've seen them recommended on Shotimes... I've never gone to them, but they are only ten minutes up Rt. 1 from me.

If it wasnt 200 miles away from me I would have tried it but I dont think driving 200 miles is a good idea since the oil is leaking out of my cam seals and out of the CPS sensor.

I drove over 4 hours to get the PA SHO SHOP to have my rod bearings done, plugs , wires, oil change, tranny fluid change and it was worth it. Brian knows these cars very well.

Do they have a website? How much does a complete front and top 60k cost? I read a few places and got a quote for about $1600 for parts n labor. Is that a complete 60k? Id want the Rod berrings done as well and check to make sure my woodruff key hasnt messed up my crank.

$1600? Does that come with a tube of Astroglide, too?

60k isn't all that difficult, than it is labor intensive. I've done 4 now that I can count, they're not too difficult. Colin (cfamilyfix) knows his ish if you're so inclined to find someone local to the NYC metro. I'd offer a hand, but to be completely honest, if I did help, i wouldn't wrap it up until at least September. Of 2010.

(Sorry again about that Matty.)

If you're going to bring it to a specialist, PA SHO Shop and NESHO are my recommendations. They're equidistant from NYC, just in opposite directions.

Just finished my top and front 60k on my 94 atx... it sucked in a sloped driveway (especially the rod bearings), but its done...lol I'd be more than glad to help if you want. You probably lookin at about 1/2 what u were quoted in parts for the whole 60k. I wouldn't change the cam sensor unless its leaking and if you have a problem with it later you can always go back in w/ minimal drama. As for the crank sensor...they usually go bad from the w/pump leaking on them. If there no signs of leakage on the sensor and its working alright...change the pump, the front main and the t. belt, and leave the sensor (I know $ can be tight and this is a costly piece.) Now if you got a leaky pan like I did...might as well do rod bearings if you going there anyway. Anyone please correct me if I'm out of line.
