Hey kids... does anyone have a used stock Goodyear RS-A they'd like to get rid of? Picked up a nail and I'd rather not put a new one on when the others about about 1/2 tread!

Thanks!!!!

I was talking to a tire retailer and he was discussing the whole "Firestone issue" and that since that whole deal, manufacturers/dealers have to replace tires that have a nail etc in them if it is in the inner or outer portion of the tire past the last tread strip. (I think I explained that right

). Now I am not sure how you could go about figuring this out for sure but I would call a tire dealer and ask them. I don't know if this will help or not but this tire guy just told me this last weekend. I may have gotten some of the details mixed up but I believe I am on the right track.
Good Luck

Don't plug it...have it patched from the inside.

As a law enforcement officer I picked up numerous nails in tires over the years. Plugs sucked...the patches from the inside work great.

Check into it.

Hmmmm, vulcanized repair doesn't work either???? Strange. I'll check my attic for a spare RSA. I think I've got one or two up there. 225/55/16???

In responce to the original question, I have a set of 4 here that you can have for a touch over whatever it costs to ship them since they are just taking up room in my garage.

I will be gone for a few days, so likely you will not hear back from me until Sunday or Monday, but if you want them, I am sure we can work something out.

To stephen... if ncmcn only needs one. I would like to get the remaining 3. 2 to replace the almost down to racing thread depth RS-A's and 1 for my spare.

OK, sounds like I can get rid of all four then. We need to figure out shipping and such. Both of you should contact me directly by email off the board. There is a little button to do that, I think. If not, I am at"

The tires are between 1/3 and 1/2 worn, so they still have good life left. I just did not care for them.
