Any trouble with "new cosmetic warranty policy"?

Took the 2010 in yesterday for chrome flaking on inner tail light trim (they already did outer) and the blue flaking off of my Ford emblem on grill. Guy said as of 1/9/12 Monday they had to "call in" all cosmetic warranty claims as some items maybe "wear items".

He assured me he was going to call Ford today and get back to me, but no phone call. I will call them tomorrow and I will be ready to flip if they are going to decline this....

Interesting. They just did mine a coule weeks ago. I had head that there is (in fact I have the list here, in print) a whole lot more items on the 'call us first' list.

The guy said if I had come in even last week it wouldnt have been questioned. He also did mention "the list". What else is on this list?

Talked to the dealer yesterday and they said they will honor the claims, however Ford hasnt bought off on both issues *yet.

On my 10 fusion , I had a trunk plastic bit discolored from the rest of the car under the third light.

Mywife had to yell a them to make something happen cause they said it was normal since its plastic and I had the tri-coat platinum white.

Moral is , my wife won.

When they replaced my side mirror (casting issue) and my rear tails (twice) last year they had to take pics and get approval first. No big deal for me - they said it was because of fraud and such that Ford was really cracking down.

IMHO nothing should be peeling, chipping, etc on a less than 3 year old car.

Thanks! Thanks interesting, very inclusive list. The blue is flaking off of my blue oval and chrome flaking off of my trim. If Ford wants pictures from them it wont be problem, just a hassle for the dealer.
