Replaced rear rotors and pads, worked great for the first couple of hundred miles all of a sudden they're squealing like mad!!! Calipers aren't hanging up, e-brake releases fully, I took the calipers, rotors, pads off and the pads were glazed over like a mirror!!! Sanded the pads down, lightly roughed up the rotors put everything back together, a couple of hundred miles later, squealing like crazy when almost to a dead stop, I'm thinking cheap pads, I got them at Autozone, what pads should I be using to eliminate this crap?!?!? shoot Thanks for your help in advance!!!

If the pads are glazing, you had better take another look at the slider pins and parking brake mechanisms. The pads aren't fully releasing from the rotors. Did you turn the pistons back in or did you press them in? Big difference.

I did press them in, very slowly, but the piston turned it's way back in, the clamp I used has a floating end on it that turns with the piston. Is it possible that when I pressed I f-ed the caliper up???

Possibly. Did the brakes have this problem before you replaced the pads?

Not this bad, they made the usual noises when pads get low. I haven't looked into calipers, are they expensive??? What do you use to **** your e-brake cable??? Here in the land of salt/rust nothing works that great!!!

i got my calipers w/core from pep boys for $30/piece. u should shop around for the best price in your area. as far as your problem, did u look at your rubber boots that covers the slider pins? it may need replacements if it is damaged. u will need to use dielectric grease to **** it up. i checked my rear brakes this weekend and the previous owner did not have one rubber boot on the rear right, the rear left boot was damaged and it was also missing the metal clip that the pad clip slides on. the caliper hardware kit is like $10/set. includes two rubber boot and metal clip.

I've already done the boots, greased the pins, etc. It's sounding more and more like the calipers are f-ed, oh well. I'll play around some more and see what else I can break!!! :D
