alignment question

I'm putting 4 new tires on next week. Do I need to do an alignment at the same time?

Maybe not needed, but IMHO a good idea considering the price of tires. Keeping the car in alignment and keeping the proper tire pressure are two keys to tire longevity.

Alignment is also a key factor in gas mileage too.

You will need one unless you want to buy new tires in another year. The geometry of new tires can, and probably will mess up your old alignment. Also your car might already be out of alignment, however, you cannot notice it because of even opposing pulls; or your tires have already worn accordingly to the misalignment to compensate.
