Aligning Car Door

The driver's side door on my 93 has always been out of line so yesterday I tried to align it to the fender and back door and adjust the striker so the door didn't "pop" open so much when opened. Well, I fixed the striker problem but I just can't seem to get the front of the door and the fender lined up. The back of the door and rear door are perfectly aligned. So what gives? I tried loosening the door-frame and frame-door bolts, pushing the door up with a floor jack and then tightening it again. And because the front of the door is low, its rubbing against the weatherstripping and causing some rust to form on the door frame, from the paint being rubbed off. I guess I will be forever tinkering with this car. :angelnot:

you also have alignment opportunities with the front fender. it may be the fender that needs to be adjusted.

That's what I thought too, until I noticed the door gap with the side skirts gets smaller the closer to the fender. I guess I just gotta figure out a way to raise the front half of the door.

usually, you can move the bottom of the fender forward without having to raise the front - it just changes the arch of the fender a little.

I agree with Rubydist that the fender is where the adjustment is to be make. Those (2) 10 mm bolts at the bottom of the fender can be loosened and the fender can be brought down by simply pushing in on it. There is another fastener about 2/3 of the way down that you can reach by opening the door (I think) and using an extension
The picture does not show the top of the fender and how it aligns with the top of the door, but my guess it is a tad high. If it is, it probably has spacers which can be removed.
