when u take off the part of your steering wheel that contains the air bag that u press for the horn (it says SRS) on it and has the horn symbol. once u take it off by the 2 bolts on either side of the steering column the things pops off and 2 seperate wires with clips are holding it on in diff spots. my question is i accidentally broke one of the clips and i have 2 options here. should i get some butt connectors (i have an extra clip) and connect it by splicing it? is that to dangerous when regarding an airbag? my other question is that the 2 sperate wires with clips are connected to this one white clip. how do i undo this white clip? the only thing i have seen is a rather large star (* kind of looks liek that) screw. do all i have to do is unscrew that and the white clip will come out since i have tried to yank and wiggle it out? anyone with airbag experience can you please help me out?

That "*" screw is a torx screw. Not sure if you need to take it off to access what you need...as far as using butt connectors...as long as it is being spliced into a straight piece of wire (not replacing any relays or anything) it will be fine.

well, if you are splicing to the connector coming from the airbag...no. If you are splicing the connector to the wire from the steering wheel...yes it would be a good idea. General rule of thumb, anytime you are working with electrical on the car...it is a good idea to disconnect the battery to prevent electicuting yourself and blowing fuses, etc...

Ii would be careful you need to realize that an airbag operates and deploys with specific resistence values splice means potenial for corrosion just a heads up on that

Be VERY careful when messing with the airbag. The system is actually very well designed, makes an accidental deployment very difficult, but when I plugged in my airbag during instalation, I got under the steering wheel so if it went off my injuries would be minimal. Good luck.
