Time to replace the rear rotors on a '94. What is the current best deal? Autozone has them for as little as $17.95 each. Anyone had any experience with these? I don't mind spending the $$$ for good stuff, but not if I don't have to.
Thanks
Bill

Back quite a few years ago, I worked at AutoZone.. I wouldnt mind putting their rotors on say a Geo..

They are of pretty poor quality and warp easily (regardless of what AutoZone will tell you)..

I'd hit up Napa or CSK and pick up some rotors from them.. They are a bit more expensive than AZ, however, I would trust them to last longer.

The AZ rotors may not be good for the SHO's, but for the 4th Gen F-Bodies a lot of people are saying how great they are and they're only $35 each. Are you sure the AZ Rotors are bad for the SHO or you're just saying they're bad in general. Brembo's seem pretty expensive. Why dont you look into doing the 96 Brake Upgrade. Take advantage of your car being a '94.

I say they are bad in general.. All their drums and rotors are purchaced in bulk from the same company (Some weird off-beat company) this company they buy from gets all the rejects from other reputable companies, and re-sells them.. AZ buys them, and makes a good profit..

AZ corperate people know that ignition parts (caps, rotors, etc) and brake hardware are consumable and everyone needs them.. They buy this stuff as cheap as possible, to offer the lower price, get you in the store and buy some of those useless accesories..

Otherwise.. After working there for 3 years, this is the jist I got.. They always want you to push their ignition stuff, and brake hardware.. Using that stuff on my own car, no way.. Not unless I didnt care much about the car.

(As a side note, AZ does sell some good stuff.. Mostly engine parts, and the like.. Certainly dont completely shun AZ on all parts.. Just avoid their brakes and ignition stuff)
