I was a good newbie and searched but didn't come up with anything.
2010 SHO with the add- on Ford remote start (separate little fob).
No matter what method I use to unlock the doors after the car has been started, the engine quits as soon as I open the door. Normal?

I mean, it isn't like the sky is falling and I'm ready to kick the car to the curb. If it's normal, its just a little quirk that I can *probably* live with. My buddy has a 2014 SHO and thinks it's funny because his doesn't do it (factory remote start...):shame:

*Edit to include pic of said fob.

Normal and it sucks. My ‘12 MKS does the exact same thing. Had a python remote start installed on my wife’s car and it stays running unless you press the brake (without turning the ignition on) and then it will die. I can deal with the cold, but sometimes I think of having an aftermarket unit installed that’s a 2-way so I know the car started without having to look out the window.

Yeah that does suck. Do you know if there is a way to increase the time the car will run? Mine shuts off after 5 minutes and that isn't going to cut it during a Michigan winter.

I had the same feeling when I found out the car shut off and could find no way to keep it running, on the upside you never have to worry about heading down the road with the fob in the house.

Actually I've already done that. Got a half mile from the house and saw "no key fob detected" on the dash cluster. DOH! LoL

Sorry for the late reply. I swear I have not been sleeping this whole time.

I tried to look up how to extend run time. I can't find the info so I suspect it comes with paperwork when the scalable system was added. Maybe the dealership can help out.
