Im working on gutting the AC system from my project SHO. But Ive run into a hitch. All the lines came apart fine, except for THIS one

Any tricks or tips to clue me in? Ive got the correct tool (7/8"), but no matter what I do, it will not budge. It will rotate a bit, but will not pull out! :nut:

My chest hurts from lyin on the motor, and my arms hurt from pullin'

Other than that, sure.... it will come out. Eventually....

Id just cut it, but these lines are from a rct free west coast car. Way too nice to ditch these lines.

Yes, I can feel the tool hit it, then slide in. And when I rotate the tool (what the **** is that little POS plastic thing called anyways  ) I can hear and feel the spring rubbing on the tool.

If you don't care about the evaporator(and if you do - use light pressure), and your disconnect tool is thin enough, grab a hold of the evap tube with a pair of channel-locks as close to the firewall as possible then use an open end wrench to "pry" between the disconnect tool and pliers. Usually, you can convince the two they don't need to be together anymore.

as you pull the A/C disconnect tool into the garter spring, push back on the line slightly then pull forward. you will hear a click when the 2 seperate, or youll jam your hand into the motor..depends on how much force you are using.

if your up to taking the dash off, you can have a buddy pull the evaporator box from the inside while you pull on the outside.

***EDIT***

or if you don't feel like taking the dash off, put a hose clamp around the evaporator side of the tubing, and clamp it down wicked tight over a couple of flat head screwdriver blades. Then you can have a buddy push on the screwdrivers while you pull on the tube to give you a little extra oomph.
