The only time I can get the A/C to work is when i hit the A/C button multiple times, & that doesn't even work all the time. It hasn’t even worked for the last 2 years then all of a sudden we've been getting lucky by pushing the button, the system is charged if that helps anything.

What do you all think it could be? EATC?

If it is the EATC is there any year that wouldn't work with mine?

I have a 93'MTX

Thanks!

also working on a nother problem

hey dont know if this is it but I just finally had my ac fixed in my 93 mtx. It would turn on at idel and once you drove the car it would kick off and not go back on unless you let the car ideal again. It ended up being the CCRM. I got one from a junkyard for 35 bucks.:thumb:

I just reset the compressor clutch gap on my 94 MTX. This is a pretty commen problem on the SHO, I did it on my 1992 when I owned it 10 years ago. The symptom is intermittent operation of the compressor. If you're getting 12V to the clutch (easy to check with a voltmeter) and it's not engaging, check the gap with a feeler gage. It should be .021-.036.

As explained in the SHOTIMES procedure, this can be done on the car. It's tight in there, you can't use a proper clutch puller on it. You have to wedge 3 screwdrivers all around the clutch to work it off. Both times I've done this there is a thick and a thin shim behind the clutch. Thick was about .025", thin was about .015". Removing the .015 shim brought the clutch clearance to the correct tolerance and completely solved the problem. Good luck!

Another problem, which I had, is the electrical connector on the front of the compressor. One of the tab pieces were cracked/broken and the connector would be loose on there. With the motor movement, sometimes it would come on and sometimes it would be on for awhile, then just cut off.
