I replaced everything in my A/C with new components except the compressor and evaporator. The two manifolds connected to the compressor are in fine shape and have been reused. Today I took it to Firestone to have the system evac-ed and filled. The system took a vacuum. Before they filled it with freon their fancy machine did some kind of leak test and it failed. So apparently I have a leak. I added dye and topped off the freon. I had the car on MAX AC for about 40 miles. When I got home I put on my glasses and turned on my UV light to find this leak. After searching I find nothing. Where could this leak be? The evaporator? Is there a way to see if it is leaking without pulling the dash? Wouldn't I be able to smell the freon or oil if it was leaking? Maybe Firestone has a bad machine?

might not be that you have bad lines, just a ****** connection somewhere that is seeping out. Check all the joints where 2 pieces connect, that and anything you DIDN'T replace would be my first idea.

All connections are good in the engine bay. Still cant find a thing in terms of leaks. Must be that evaporator! :cuss: I really don't want to pull the dash. On top of that if I open the system back up won't that ruin the dryer/accumulator and liquid line?

They could pull a vacuum on it, but will it hold that vacuum when disconnected from that pump?
